"Perfect for when you don't have a lot of time"

INTRODUCTION

Melissa Wood Tepperberg, founder of Melissa Wood Health has a streaming service where every week she posts a new pilates/yoga flow. They range from 8 minutes to 50 minutes. Some are just body weight while others use 1-2 lb ankle weights and other pilates props. Melissa promotes her workouts as being perfect for when you don't have a lot of time but still want to get something in.

REVIEW

On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best, based on the energy of the workout, the intensity level, and overall vibe.

Energy of workout: 5. Positive vibes is the best phrase to describe the Melissa Wood Method. As she always says, even just 5 minutes will shift your mood (and it's so true.) You will end class feeling zen for sure.

Intensity: 2.5. While her flows are very chill and relaxing, you will definitely sweat and your muscles will burn. I was shocked to wake up the next morning sore after the first class I did. Even just tiny movements with light to no weight will burn with Melissa's method. Her classes overall feel like a yin yoga class, but the small, slow movements create "long lean lines" according to Melissa and thousands of others who swear by her method.

Overall Vibe: 4. These workouts are great to do if short on time or want to take it slow. However, if you are looking for a high intensity strength training workout, this is not it. I would consider this more for physique rather than endurance or stamina. If pilates is your thing, then I recommend 100%. The classes are also an instant mood booster and make you feel so relaxed. Her streaming service is $10 a month on her website or app (which is much more affordable than in-person studios) or begin with a 7-day free trial.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Melissa's flows are amazing. They require little to no equipment and not a lot of time. They are short enough to do during study breaks or between events in your day. Like I said, if pilates is your thing, definitely try it.
